Applications must be submitted in person at the Local 80 Training Center:
32700 Dequindre RoadAt the time of application you must present a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license and provide a $40 cash testing fee. The testing fee is non-refundable. At the time of application you will receive a time to report for the Entrance Exam. When submitting an application, the applicant will be registered for the Local 80 Entrance Exam. All applicants are required to pass the exam before being considered for apprenticeship. The exam consists of the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test and 3 ACT WorkKeys assessments; Applied Math, Workplace Documents and Graphic Literacy.Click here to view online exam study aids and here for a booklet on how to prepare for the WorkKeys Assesments. Applicants will be provided test details and information on how to obtain study material when they submit their application at the Training Center. If you have already taken the Entrance Exam, your name and test score will remain active for a period of two years. If you decide to retest, your position on the Applicant List will change as your old score is removed and your new test score takes its place. If you choose not to retest then your position will change as the new test scores are slotted in place.
