Entrance into the Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Program is gained by making application for and then taking the Entrance Exam. Applications are accepted at the Local 80 Training Center, 32700 Dequindre Road, Warren Mi. 48092 on the second Wednesday of each month from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
At the time of application you must present proof of High School Graduation or GED, a valid driver's license and provide a $40 cash testing fee. The testing fee is non-refundable. At the time of application you will receive a time to report for the Entrance Exam. You will also receive information on how to prepare for the test.
If you have already taken the Entrance Exam your name and test score will remain active for a period of two years. If you decide to retest in July 2016, your position on the Applicant List will change as your old score is removed and as your new test score dictates. If you chose not to retest then your position will change as the new testers are sloted in.
Entrance exam applications must be filed in person at the Sheet Metal Workers' Local 80 Training Center, 32700 Dequindre Road, Warren, MI 48092. You may print and file the completed application in person or you may request an application at the Training Center. Applications are given out and/or accepted on the second Wednesday of each month between the hours of 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
